Cyberattacks happen. They happen often for small manufacturers since they sometimes lack resources and that affects their resiliency. Security doesn't have to be expensive, but it definitely has to be smart.

NIST recommends security segmentation and has a six step paper titled Security Segmentation in a Small Manufacturing Environment (NCCoE team). The architecture becomes the blueprint for improving the security and building blocks are needed to achieve a fully protected environment.
